On Monday, after signing C Jason Brown on the weekend, the Rams took care of one of their own re-signing CB Ron Bartell to a four-year deal. It is worth $28M, with $13.6M guaranteed as per Foxsports.com. So far being a free agent at the CB position truly has paid off.
Nnamdi Asomugha, DeAngelo Hall, Dominique Foxworth, have all signed big money deals at over $111M combined or more than $30M each. Now Bartell joins this group of corners that are raking it in.
For the Rams it was a key siginign. Retaining Bartell gives them to ability to reconstruct their weak secondary other than standout safetey OJ Atogwe. Now they can focus on hammering a long-term deal with him.
So Brown, Bartell are signed and are part of coach Spagnuolo's new look St. Louis Rams team. More changes are to come via the draft and maybe in free agency. Next season already looks better.
