Rumor – Big Bird returning behind the bench?

Will Larry Robinson be the next head coach of the Montreal Canadiens?
A quality source informed me that Larry Robinson will be flying in to Montreal on Monday (possibly earlier) to interview for Montreal's vacant head coaching position. It is not clear which party initiated contact, but Robinson is an ideal candidate given Canadiens' President Pierre Boivin's desire for a coach that is bilingual and who has a good track record. The source specified that the meeting is NOT to offer him the job, rather, it is merely to gauge his interest.
Big Bird would bring instant credibility to the organization; with his Hall of Fame career and later, his success as a coach, his resume speaks for itself. As a player, Robinson played 17 seasons for the Habs, going to the playoffs every single year, winning 6 stanley cups in the process. His number 19 is hanging in the rafters at the Bell Centre alongside some of the other legends who have donned the uniform. Behind the bench, he won 2 cups as an assistant coach and 1 as a head coach. He also guided the Devils to the finals in 2001, losing to the Avalanche in 7 games.
In my opinion, this would be a step in the right direction for the club. Robinson was a smart player who did whatever he had to do to help his team win. He has a tremendous knowledge for the game and he has proven that he is able to communicate that knowledge effectively with his players. The only question I have is; if he left New Jersey because of stress and health, how can he handle the pressure in Montreal? Regardless, it is good to see that Pierre Boivin is being proactive right now.
