KC heads home after taking series

So the Royals scored 6 runs. In 3 games. And managed to win 2 of em'. Following an impressive performance by Zack Greinke, Kyle Davies goes out and pitches 7 strong. The bullpen held it, and KC passes it's 1st divisional test.
In what turned out to be a pitching duel, between Davies and John Danks, the Royals showed you a little gumption.
A great catch by Dejesus in left. 3 games in and he's looked terrific in the field.Loved leaving Davies in to pitch the 7th. His stuff looks good. (As awkward as that was to type.)They ran twice, successful both times. Gordon could have walked to 2nd after the jump he got.Absolutely dreadful call that went KC's way in a critical spot. Bottom 8, 1 on, 1 out. What looked like a double play ball is dropped on the throw to 2nd. Ump credited Callaspo with losing the ball in transition, but it was clearly a drop. Coco Crisp has been exactly what they need him to be. The 2-run homer was a no-doubter and proved to be just enough.Alex Gordon picked a bad spot to make his team's 1st error of the year, but in the end there was no harm. The team played superb defense all series. A little early to call it a strength, but maybe it's not the weakness originally feared.
My thinking was that this team would need to score a bunch of runs, and hold the opposition to under 5 a game. They go out and score 6 runs all series and come out with 2 wins, and could have swept. The starting pitching could not have been much better, and aside from Specs Farnsworth the bullpen did it's job.
But it can't be all seashells and balloons. Mike Jacobs is on pace for something like 63000 strikeouts. Mike Aviles and Jose Guillen will need to get going. We can't assume the defense will be this good, and the offense needs to drive some of these guys in. Too many left on base. And brace yourself, cause Sidney Ponson is starting the home opener against the Yankees.
All in all, coming away with 2 wins was solid.
