The deal that had the Giants getting WR Braylon Edwards from the Browns for their first and third round draft picks appears to have died. From what I've heard on the NFL network, the Browns tried to sweeten the deal by adding Mathius Kiwanuka to the trade, which was not something the Giants wanted to do. Being in a position to get a player of Edwards' caliber after dumping Plaxico Burress appeared too good to be true, but with the G-men holding 5 of the first 100 picks, they will have plenty of chips to make a deal throughout the day. Another option would be to go after Anquan Boldin since Boldin wants out of Arizona as they are never going to pay him what he deserves.
If a trade does go down today for Edwards or Boldin, the G-men will have plugged the hole that formed with the vacancy of Burress. We all saw what happened towards the end of last year when they didn't have the deep theat to compliment their running game. I'm sure the Giants would love to get an experienced WR as opposed to drafting one with the 29th pick they hold. If a deal doesn't go down, look for them to go after Kenny Britt, the WR out of Rutgers. If they decide to fill their other needs such as a LB, then James Laurinaitis from Ohio State will probably be the best guy left on the board.
I anticipate an exciting day for Giants fans as eveyone loves a draft day trade. Here's a look at what the Giants have to work with.
