Billingsley a workhorse

First of all, yes I do think that Chad Billingsley will lose a game this year.
Even though Billingsley did not get the win last night against the Giants, he sure did look like an ace last night. Not only did he pitch into the 7th inning last night, but he had 2 strikeouts in that inning while hovering around 100 pitches. Right now, Chad is on pace to have about 217 strikeouts on the year, up from 201 last year. Little to early in the season, but is there a pitcher off to a better start in the NL?
Billinglsey is 4-0 on the season with a 2.14 era. 9 times out of 10 all the Dodger offense has to do is score 2-3 runs per game and they have a great chance of winning games started by Chad. Had it not been for Jonathan Broxton's wildness last night, Chad would be 5-0. So far this season, hitters better hope that Broxton is wild, because batters are having trouble catching up to his fastball.
I think another Dodger just walked!
Let's also give credit to the Dodger defense last night. First Russell Martin making two nice plays, the stretch on Blake's throw home in the 8th, and the throw to Furcal to nail Schierholtz trying to steal in the 7th. Furcal made a great catch and tag, these plays do not show up in the boxscore. Casey Blake also saved two runs in the 3rd by robbing Molina of an extra base hit.
A good mix of defense, timely hitting, and the patience to walk 9 times secured another close victory (the only type of games these two rivals know how to play) over the Giants. But it all begins with the starting pitching, and so far nobody has been better than Billinglsey.
Dodgers will have their hands full tonight against last year's NL Cy Young Tim Lincecum.
Do not look now, but Manny is batting .366.
