Dear Vikings fans …
Welcome to life with Brett Favre. Well, almost life with Brett Favre.
Packers fans lived on the edge in recent years wondering whether No. 4 would come back for another year of Lambeau Leaps. The three-time MVP is one of the most exciting players in NFL history, whether it is his downfield heave hauled in by Sterling Sharpe in a playoff game against the Lions or the underhand pass in his final game in green and gold against the Giants.
Favre is one of those universally loved players, regardless of team. You may hate to face him, but you respect and are probably in awe of what he does on the football field. Yes, Vikings fans, Bears fans, Lions fans. No matter which team you follow.
If Favre does finally decide to sign with the Vikings – a team that tortured him throughout his career – it will only minimally impact the Packers. Sure, there are those two games where No. 4 will face the team with which he made his name, but that's it. The Packers better be worrying about the transition to Dom Capers' 3-4 defense, whether they can find a running game and who will play right tackle.
Otherwise, it won't matter if the Packers sweep or get swept in the two games against the Vikes.
Meanwhile, Vikings fans can deal with the maddening ways of Brett Favre. His silly interceptions will drive Tommy Kramer back to the bar.
Don't worry, Packers fans. He isn't your problem anymore.
