The best team in Southern CA is?

After this weekend of interleague, one thing is for sure, the Lakers are better than the Clippers!

The Angels came into Chavez Ravine and took 2of 3 from the Dodgers, who were 17-3 at home entering the weekend. The Dodgers have been unimpressive in interleague play, they are 20-44 since 2005, worst in the majors.

I'm not taking too much away from the weekend, considering each team squandered many chances Friday night to win the game.  The biggest thing I am taking away, is boy Tori Hunter is fun to watch in centerfield.  He has been doing it since his time in Minnesota, imagine him as a free safety in the NFL, just fun to watch!

The Dodgers starters fared well, Kershaw on Friday only gave up a run, too bad he used 36 pitches in the first inning, he could only last 5.  Randy Wolf pitched decent, giving up 4 runs through 6 keeping the Dodgers in the game. Billingsley was not Billingsley Sunday, and the bullpen had a rare bad outing, but that is going to happen during the season many times.  Would have been great to not come against the Angels because fans put more value on this game than say a Rockie series.

Again no game was a blowout, each team in every game.  Dodgers still have best record in MLB and Coloradoi s a great cure for losing a series.  Is the American League better than the NL, yes.  Are the Angels a better team than the Dodgers, I am going to hold off on that for now. Both teams play in weak divisions and we'll see both teams in the playoffs (more than likely). The teams face each other again in Anaheim June 19-21.

Hats off to the debut of rookie RF Jamie Hoffman, 2 hits and 4 RBI Sunday, homered in first AB.

Some nice competition coming up for the Dodgers, after Colorado they visit Wrigley then after Arizona leaves Los Angeles, the Philadelphia Phillies come to Chavez Ravine.

Casey Blake is seeing the ball well, hitting .500 in his last 18 AB's, 0 K's.
