After months of speculation over the status of Patriots franchise quarterback Tom Brady, a lot of questions were put to rest, at least for the time being this afternoon. For the first time since his injury last fall, the cameras and media got a glimpse of Brady on the football field. Tom was back to his usual self, during the portion of the OTA open to the media. Brady showed no discomfort whatsoever throwing the ball and dropping back three, five, and seven steps to deliver the ball. After the team’s workout Brady spoke extensively with the media, he assured them all is well. Brady gave a brief status report, “I feel as good as I could possibly feel. I don't think about it. It doesn't bother me doing anything. It's feeling really good and it's about as good as I can say. I'm real happy with where I'm at.”

Towards the end of the media scrum we saw flashes of comedy that have become commonplace with Brady over the last decade in New England. When asked if he was amused by the speculation about his knee, he responded with a huge smile that he is, “amused by a lot.” Tom also laughed at a reporter’s insistence that he wear a helmet while riding his bicycle, as was seen in today’s Boston Herald. All certainly appears to be well in Patriot Place for now. Tom told the assembled media that he’s, “going to try to be the best leader and the best teammate and supporter of the guys on my team.” We will see in the coming months whether Tom Brady can go back to the NFL MVP level quarterback we have all come to expect. But even Tom Brady not at his best is a lot better than most. And for now that’s all the matters in Foxboro
