49ers reach deal on new stadium

It appears the 49ers will be finally having a new home in a few years. The team announced that the team has reached an agreement with the City of Santa Clara on a term sheet for a new $937 million state-of-the-art stadium that will create thousands of new jobs and generate hundreds of millions of dollars in new economic impact for the City and the region
Alls you can really say is it is about time. Candle Stick Park holds a lot of memories and history behind it, but it has been time for a change for a while. Now with the team rising, a new stadium is just another big thing to add to their list to look forward to. In a weak NFC West, the 49ers are set to contend for the division title. Now this new stadium will draw more fans and more job oppertunities for the city of San Francisco. Not only is this exciting for the fans, it is exciting for people starving for jobs and should help the unemployment rate in San Fran at least a little bit. The city will be investing $42 million and sources also say $20 milliion will be coming from Santa Clara’s municipal utility company.
A little preview of what the 49ers new state of the art stadium will look like
The remaining $825 million cost of the $937 million facility will be covered by the 49ers organization. What I found pretty cool was it offers 2,000+ job oppertunities within the stadium which I am sure a lot of people will be happy with. It was bring many fans to the home opener the year the Stadium is ready to be played in. What could make it even better is if by that time, the 49ers could be a legit contender for the NFL playoffs with the young core they have at the moment. The next step is, The Santa Clara City Council will hold a public meeting on June 2 to review the stadium agreement and determine next steps. If the council approves it will give residents a chance to vote after the environmental review is completed. But it looks very good for these plans to go smoothly. The plans look very nice based on the pictures I have seen, there are more on various other websites. I am looking forward to the construction of this being done.
