Ottawa Senators to name Binghamton Head Coach tomorrow at press conference

The Ottawa Senators will be announcing their new head coach of their AHL affiliate in Binghamton tomorrow at a press conference.
Updated at 1015am EST – Don Nachbaur is the new head coach of the Baby Sens. What a joke this Sens organization has become. There were numerous quality candidates available with extensive AHL coaching resumes but once again owner Euguen Melnyk goes on the cheap side and gets Murray to hire another junior coach, just like Cory Clouston and Dave Cameron. I can tell you the people in Binghamton are not too pleased. Within the last hour I have receiced 42 e-mails about the ridiculous hiring and all of them are not support of another junior coach. I guess Murray doesn't want a coach that will run his own ship so to speak but he would rather have a “yes man” behind the bench. A few names have surfaced as possible candidates for the position most notably Don Lever and Brad Shaw. I know many fans in Binghamton don't want a junior coach with no AHL experience after it backfired badly with Dave Cameron while John Muckler was GM in Ottawa. Both names that have been mentioned would be a great fit, but again…..these two names are from a few sources and I was told it still could be neither of these two quality coaches but that an annoucement will be made tomorrow.
Regardless, Ottawa had to get this announcement done now since we are in the middle of July without a coach in Bingo and add to the fact that the Bingo Sens Annual Open House is on Saturday from 11-3…..if you were one of the 2,000 season ticket holders showing up on Saturday and still had no head coach announced you would look pretty bad as an organization.
Ottawa will also be announcing the signing of goaltender Andy Chiodo tomorrow, which will give the Baby Sens a formidable duo with Mike Brodeur already in the fold. Chiodo has played in Europe the last 3 years after being selected by the NYI in 2001 and then re-entered the draft in 2003 and was taken by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He appeared in 8 games during the 2003-04 with the Pens.
Of note, Jeremy Yablonski has posted on his facebook page tonight that he will be in a Sens uniform when the regular season begins. Quite the interesting statement…..I wonder what Chris Neil will have to say about this?
