Why was Hudson not running?

Last night's rally in the 9th fell short, but I have to ask why Orlando Hudson did not try to score in the 9th?
Let me take you back to the seen , bottom of the 9th, 2 out, the Dodgers have already scored 3 to cut the lead to 6-5 and Orlando Hudson is on 3rd, Furcal at bat.
Furcal clearly squares to bunt, (this is where I would take off) even if the suicide squeeze is not on, you need to be running on contact. Furcal's bunt goes to the pitcher, but it bounces first. Would have been a close play, Trevor Hoffman would have to make a great play, and if Hudson is running as soon as Furcal squares, I think he makes it.
Why is Furcal bunting there if you are not trying to score on the play, does not make sense. Risk vs reward. Anytime you have a chance to score with two outs in the ninth, you have to take it. I know Manny was on deck but percentages say he is going to get out 7 of 10 times, so if the game ends with a runner being thrown out at home, that is something you can live with. Not taking the chance, no good.
So granted the Dodgers made it close, but I believe a base running mistake cost them a chance to take it to extra innings.
