The 1-2 pre-season Dallas Cowboys head to Minneapolis to play the 3-0 pre-season Minnesota Vikings on Friday night, 2000hrs.
This is the last pre-season game for both of these teams before the regular season starts next Thursday September 10, 2009 and on-going. For those of you who were wanting to see newly acquired, (I retired, I did not retire) QB Brett Favre, the Vikings have stated that Favre will not play in tonight's game.
With it being the last pre-season game before the regular season don’t look for either team to play their starters at all and or for very long. Why some ask? Well you certainly do not want any of your starters to get a season-ending injury in the last pre-season game before the start of the regular season and even more, it is a great opportunity to see the rookies, the non-starters or the guys who are really trying to make the starting line-up a chance to showcase themselves one last time and get in a lot of playing time to try and impress the coaching staff. This is a real chance for those types of players to make a lasting impression.
Dallas premier ‘we hope’ wide receiver Roy Williams will miss Friday nights game and lets hope this last rest for Williams will enable him to make the first game of the season on the 13th. All in all, last pre-season game, I know, everyone is bored and wants the regular season to come and come fast, well folks, it is a week away so stayed tuned. hey, comments, do we need, want pre-season football?, I have some suggestions on that which might actually make the NFL season a little more exciting….but as always comments, questions, concerns are encouraged….. Cowboys regular season opens in Tampa, Sunday September 13th, 1300…..go Cowboys… ‘Stantsy’
