Houston loves you more than you will know…
The Texans pass defense got a much needed and long awaited boost today.
According to the Houston Texans website Dunta Robinson has signed his one year franchise tender and reported to practice today. He took part in conditioning drills with strength and conditioning coach Ray Wright.
It looks like Robinson will go right to his starting spot as well. Head Coach Gary Kubiak said “He'll go to his spot, you bet. But like I told him, it's up to him to basically show us how he is physically, how far he can come in this next week. I don't think you're looking at a player that's going to go out there and play 60-70 plays (against the Jets). Whether or not he'll be there on gameday, we'll see. He will let us know by how he practices.”
Now the decision is who will start on the other side at corner, Brice McCain or Fred Bennett. Bennett is a former starter, but McCain has played very well in the pre-season. We'll have to wait and see.
The Texans roster is currently at 54 players and will be for the next two weeks. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has granted the team a two week roster exemption because Robinson signed late.
