Drew Brees had another big game as the New Orleans Saints beat many's preseason favorites the Philadelphia Eagles 48-22 at Lincoln Financial Field.
Another week another huge performance by Saints quarterback Drew Brees. Brees carved up the Eagles defense to the tune of 311 yards and 3 touchdowns. That is now 669 yards passing and 9 touchdowns through the first two games for Brees. Like the first game Brees connected with numerous receivers as he hooked up with 9 different receivers out of his 25 completions.
Marques Colston recorded 98 yards receiving and 2 more touchdowns on the day. Reggie Bush scored his first touchdown on the ground this year on a 19 yard run. The defense played good enough for a second week as they intercepted Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb 3 times and sacked him twice as he was making his first career NFL start in place of injured Donovan McNabb.
The game was close for the first half but once the second half began the Saints offense exploded to put the game away. This win puts the Saints in a first place tie at 2-0 with the Atlanta Falcons as they get ready to travel to Buffalo next Sunday for a game with the Bills who are coming off a week 2 win against Tampa Bay.
