Chester Pitts to the I.R.

The team has placed left guard, and original Texan, Chester Pitts on injured-reserve, thus ending his season.
Pitts injured his right knee against the Titans last Sunday and underwent season ending surgery earlier this week. Pitts has played in every one of the 114 games in franchise history. He is one of only two players, along with kicker Kris Brown, from the original team who are still currently on the roster. He is also one of only six offensive linemen in the entire league to have played in every game since 2002. Last year Pitts was an alternate on the AFC Pro Bowl team. Needless to say, Pitts will be missed on and off the field.
To fill the roster spot opened by Pitts' injury the Texans signed veteran safety Bernard Pollard. Last year Pollard was the Chiefs leading tackler, with 98 stops, including 84 solo. He was let go by Kansas City in the last round of roster cuts this pre-season.
