Week – 3 match up has the 0-2 Carolina Panthers heading into the confines of new Cowboy stadium to play the 1-1 Dallas Cowboys.
Certainly this is not where the Panthers want to be after going 12-4 last year and Dallas needs this win to get back on track after losing a nailbitter last week to the Giants. The Cowboys did what the Buffalo Bills know what to do last week against the NY Giants and that is ‘lose football games’ when the game very well could have been theirs. This week will bring a different Cowboy team and we hope it leads to a Dallas victory.
The game brings regular season game number 2 to new Cowboy stadium. I am going to hope the hype of the opening up of the new stadium is behind everyone and this week the Cowboys can focus on football and not flashbulbs. It is another big game being on Monday night and the hype that comes with playing on MNF usually means a few more jitters, lets hope not for Cowboy Nation.
Both teams will be desperate for a win as Dallas doesn't want to start the year 1-2 in a tough NFC East division, while the Panthers can ill afford an 0-3 start in their tough division.
QB Tony Romo has stated this past week that he needs to elevate his game for his team get the W!
The Dallas offence will use all of its weapons and watch for Romo to rebound and utilize all his receivers like he did in week-1 especially TE Jason Witten. When a QB comes off a bad game, start by checking off to the TE to get some completions and then he can go downfield to your long-pass weapons. (Williams, Crayton, Austin). Dallas should have no problem running the ball but here is the question mark, status of RB Marion Barber III remains un-decided for him to start on Monday night. Barber pulled up on a 35 yard run in the 4th quarter of last Sunday nights game against the Giants and so far it looks to be a game-time decision as to whether Barber plays or not. Have no fear as the Dallas backfield has depth with all-purpose Felix Jones and Tashard Choice which if needed can certainly fill in quite well for the potential of Barber not playing.
Who would ever think thatthe Cowboys wouldn't have a sack or even a turnover? They have to pick up their play, the Dallas D led the NFL in sacks last season and something the Cowboys fans expect from their defence is dominance.
Should be a good-tilt, last match up between these two teams was a 23-13 Cowboy win. Dallas has won 7 straight regular season games against the Panthers. Enjoy the game, comments, questions….see everyone Tuesday for the post-game wrap-up blog…..
