Dallas seeks to tame wild Broncos in Denver
This may be one of the hardest blogs to write as I clearly don’t see the 3-0 Denver Broncos competing with Dallas this Sunday when the Cowboys head to Denver.
Call me silly, but Dallas clearly has the better team and, well, I am not a betting man, Denver has met their match for this Sunday’s tilt between these two teams. I am not here to blog on the Broncos but clearly there is no reason this team should be 3-0. But, hey, they are and Dallas Nation is going to keep that win column in Denver at 3. If anyone feels like opposing that, I am interested in hearing what anyone has to say but I can’t see Denver even coming close to a much stronger Dallas team that, outside of the Giants game, Dallas is getting stronger and stronger as the season goes on.
The keys to Dallas winning this game are going to be running the ball against a weak Broncos offensive line. Problem is we have a hurt Dallas running game but they have a strong bench in the running department and look for Marion Barber to play as much as he can and be in uniform. Tashard Choice will take a ton of the brunt of the running game and he is up for this task. As per a short mid-week blog, don’t expect my all-purpose man Felix Jones to start, play or even be in uniform. Jones will be missed but lets hope for a speedy recovery for him and see him back in uniform as quickly as possible.
Dallas will look to regain their passing game and get wide receiver Roy Williams involved. Williams is filling a lot of key roles for the Cowboys offence so far this season, he was brought in to catch balls, be a down-field threat and so far, he has had a minor role as far as catching balls down-field. I see this game as one the Cowboys will win from start to finish. As always, if Romo is in trouble and or needs a nice 20 yard gain right up the middle, took for tight end Jason Witten to be right there where Romo is throwing the ball.
The Cowboys defence will have to play a similar style as they did last week and get to the Broncos fast, furious and frustrate them to the point of turnovers, interceptions, sacks, who doesn’t love the Cowboys defence when they are playing at 150%?, I know I do.
Look for cornerback Mike Jenkins to start on Sunday as he starts to shadow opposing players and get more comfortable at the corner back position.
Another note, Dallas left tackle Flozell Adams was fined (once again) by the NFL. 3rd week in a row the tackle has been fined and some are saying he is being coached to do this (comment here). The Cowboys might appeal the fine but does not look like there is an impending suspension and I am sure Jerry Jones can afford a little fine here and there.
See everyone as my buddy Jimmy Buffet says ‘Come Monday’ and enjoy the game folks, I will only bet my blender the Cowboys are going to win so anyone want to bet on a blender?, let me know….
As always, comments, questions, concerns are encouraged….
