Saints Ground Jets, 24-10

Sanchez, Gang Green humbled in Big Easy loss

There's a reason they call them “growing pains”.  Sometimes, in order to succeed, one needs to experience failure.

Neophyte quarterback Mark Sanchez finally looked like the rookie that he is on Sunday when he threw three interceptions and lost a fumble en route to the Jets' loss to the Saints.  One of the interceptions and the fumble were returned for touchdowns.  Sanchez was harrassed all day and, for the first time since he donned the Green and White, looked unsure of himself in the pocket.

New Orleans' defensive coordinator Gregg Williams managed to do what Bill Belichick failed to:  Rattle the cool customer.

The Saints also proved again that they didn't need Drew Brees to throw a touchdown pass in order to win.  Pierre Thomas rumbled through the Jets for 86 yards and a score, pacing the team to victory.

Thomas Jones provided the only tally for the Jets as he broke through the stout New Orleans defense for a 15 yard touchdown run.

Up next for Gang Green is an important shot at redemption as they get to face their long-time AFC East rivals, the Miami Dolphins next Monday night.  The Fins will be trotting out Chad Henne in only his second pro start, so the focus will be to make him unsettled and force him into making mistakes….much like the Saints did to Sanchez.

Ok, so “The Sanchize” isn't perfect.

However, something tells me that the kid is a fast learner.
