Gang Green trades Stickey, Trusnick and picks for enigmatic receiver
The Jets sure do like making a splash on the sports pages, don't they?
Early Wednesday morning, New York traded wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, linebacker Jason Trusnick and undisclosed draft picks to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for talented but troubled wide receiver Braylon Edwards.
The potential All Star has been extremely unhappy in Cleveland and his mood has been reflected in his miserable 10 catch season thus far. However, he clearly has the potential to put up big numbers as evidenced by his 80 catch, 16 touchdown campaign only two years ago.
The Jets are a better fit for him. With Jerricho Cotchery lining up across the way, teams will not be able to focus on him as much and that should clear some room for him to operate downfield. Also, quarterback Mark Sanchez is a clear upgrade over either Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn.
