Dallas travels to KC for must win!!

I am not sure how to start off this blog when I have no idea which Dallas Cowboys team will show up as the Cowboys head to Kansas City to visit the land of Dorothy and Toto. I can only hope that the Chiefs do not have any wizard of Oz in their football playbook and the Cowboys come out victorious.
The Cowboys are 2-2 and really given how bad they have played as a team since the opening game of the season they never thought they would be at 2-2 after 4 games of the season. The Chiefs are 0-4 just for the record but their expectations are not Dallas like expectations.
I am not going to say that the Cowboys could very well be 4-0 but the two losses have both been very close scores and Dallas very well could be 4-0 but now is the time to get some wins if the Cowboys ever think they are going to play in the post-season this year.
Keys to Dallas winning this game are nothing new to Dallas Nation, hold onto the ball, throw the ball, solid defence, a turnover here and there would be nice also but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, special teams, maybe I should say that again, special teams. Dallas just has to get back to basics. Quarterback Tony Romo has been sub-par the last few weeks and has to get that rhythm back and find a favourite receiver to throw the ball to and key in on good, crisp passes. On that note, Dallas wide receiver Roy Williams is questionable with a rib injury. Romo can start by getting his rhythm back by as I say all the time, get the ball to tight end Jason Witten (who Cowboy Bones commented as my boyfriend), if that is what it takes than so be it but Romo can only gain confidence by getting some completions to Witten before he starts to throw the ball downfield against a hapless 28th in the league against the pass-defence Kansas City Chiefs.
Dallas is having their share of injuries and above mentioned wide-receiver Roy Williams is one along with all-purpose Felix Jones who is un-likely to play this Sunday. Marion Barber who did play last Sunday will dress and be in uniform but how much he plays will be determined. Barber showed some greatness last Sunday but did show some signs of the injury being aggravated so look for Tashard Choice to take most of the back-field reps.
All in all this game could be a huge test for the Cowboys to get out of their funk and win but win big. Although a win is a win, the Cowboys have to win big to show that they had no trouble with a team of the Chiefs calibre. We will find out Sunday afternoon so stay tuned to your TV’s folks. I will be in Buffalo at the Browns / Bills game watching former Cowboy TO…..should be interesting.
As always, comment and questions, updates, FYI’s, let me know…..
