As we enter week-6 of the NFL season, it is the bye week for the Dallas Cowboys. I know everyone is upset that American’s team is not playing this week but hey, blame it on the NFL scheduling, not me people. O.k, joking aside, if any team is looking forward to their bye-week, it is the Cowboys.
I will be the first to admit the Cowboys have not played up to what I thought their potential was this year and where do we point the finger? I don’t have the answer to that but maybe some of you readers do which is what I am looking for here, input!!!!!.
Dallas owner Jerry Jones is still backing his head coach Wade Phillips and saying Phillips job is safe and sound in Dallas Nation. Is Phillips to blame for the under-achieving Cowboys so far this season? Again, input!!!!!!!!, I know most of the time when a team gets off to a bad start or a start they did not expect; everyone usually looks at the head coach.
One player who is really going to enjoy the week-off is all purpose Felix Jones. Jones has been doing some light running drills and hoping the bye-week will be exactly what he needs to ‘potentially’ get back for week-7 game in Dallas against the Atlanta Falcons.
The bye-week is always a good week for the injured players to get healthy well not missing a game due to their prospective injuries. The rest should allow wide receiver Roy Williams enjoy time to get back in uniform for the week-7 game. The bye-week should also allow running back Marion Barber that extra rest to get him as close to 100% for week-7 game also.
We still have to talk about Dallas quarterback Tony Romo and what is wrong with him this year. He is missing receivers, can’t get the ball to them and is having a rough time finding any element of rhythm so far this season. I am not sure the stats but the Cowboys are having a hell of a time getting the ball into the end zone when the Cowboys are inside the ‘red-zone’ (inside the opponent’s 20 yard line for those firs time readers). Let’s hope Romo and company can use the week off to practise and maybe find some rhythm for there to be any hope for this season to be a successful one for Dallas Nation and fans abroad.
See ya’all next week and as always comments, questions, concerns, I will be checking in often!!!!!!!!
