Will Giants Be Dolts Vs. Bolts?

How low can the Giants go? Fans hope we already found out in the horror show that was last week's game in Philly. Now the Chargers come to town with plenty of reasons to make you think the Giants could sink further with another embarassing loss.
Charger coach Norv Turner has been coming up with the standard “we have so much respect for these guys” lines in interviews, but behind closed doors you know he's licking his chops to unleash some aerial armageddon on the Giants' Swiss cheese secondary.
Believe it or not, the Chargers are 31st in the league in rushing, and their game plan this year has been all about Phillip Rivers throwing to tight end Antonio Gates. The Giants pass defense meanwhile has had major problems without saftey Kenny Phillips (on injured reserve) and corner Aaron Ross (out with a recurring hamstring hangup). Their replacements, CC Brown and Terelle Thomas, both have gotten torched several times by McNabb and Brees in the last two weeks. You know the trash talking Rivers wants a piece of that action.
The Giants attitude and toughness will be tested again, now that their slide has intensified. Linebacker Antonio Pierce told Giants.com that the Giants D has been missing the feature “11 guys swarming to the ball.” Aka effort. If Pierce has truly called out his teammates in the locker room over their lack of effort (as he said he did) then perhaps the sleeping Giants will emerge from their cave this week.
But has Pierce adequately shaken up his teammates? Has he thrown enough chairs around? Has Coughlin? Has anyone? I suppose we'll find out on Sunday, because status quo will be a disaster at this point. I'm guessing the buck stops here. 34-30 Giants in an ugly squeaker.
