Thanksgiving is fast approaching and I wanted to take a moment to give thanks. I have a lot to be thankful for.
I'm thankful for 9 other teams passing on Paul Pierce in the '98 draft.
I'm thankful for Robert Kraft taking a chance on Bill Belichick. Hard to believe that hiring Belichick was a risky move at the time. Yeah…how'd that work out?
I'm thankful for Chad Johnson legally changing his name to Chad Ochocinco. Every time I see the back of his jersey it makes me laugh.
I'm thankful for Danny Ainge convincing his buddy Kevin McHale to trade Kevin Garnett. A trade that instantly erased 20 years of pain and misfortune for the franchise.
I'm thankful for Milan Lucic's desire to crack some skulls.
I'm thankful for Mo Lewis' hit on Drew Bledsoe forever changing the fortunes of the Patriots organization. Sorry Drew…loved ya and all but I hope you understand.
I'm thankful for Pacman Jones making it rain. I'm even more thankful he's not in the NFL anymore.
I'm thankful for Manny Pacquiao saving boxing.
I'm thankful for Jon Gruden on MNF loving this guy right here.
I'm thankful for Drew Brees giving the city of New Orleans something to cheer about.
I'm thankful for Kevin Youkilis' fantastic chin and the squirrel that nests there.
I'm thankful for Tommy Heinsohn finding it ridiculous when a Celtic gets called for a foul. And I'm also thankful for Tommy calling out the refs by name if he disagrees with a call and practically giving their address during the broadcast. Tommy…give yourself a Tommy point.
I'm thankful for Mangenius still head coaching. It's a constant reminder how good I have it as a Pats fan with Bill on the sidelines.
I'm thankful for Manny being Manny. Pure entertainment.
I'm thankful for Lebron James; finally a player that almost lives up to the title “Next Jordan”. Notice I say almost. There can only be one Jordan.
I'm thankful for Dave Roberts stealing second.
I'm thankful for the Tuck Rule.
I'm thankful for Bird and Magic picking up a basketball when they were kids.
And I'm mostly thankful for my wife, my family and my friends.
Wishing you and your families a safe and happy thanksgiving.
