A look at the Thankgiving tussle between the Cowboys and the Raiders
Happy US Thanksgiving to all of America but , most of all, Dallas Nation.
This week’s match for the Dallas Cowboys has the Cowboys hosting the Oakland Raiders. First time these two teams have met in 11 years.
As always, Dallas and Detroit Lions are the usual staples to play on US Thanksgiving. Recently, they have included the late game which means most of the football fans in the US have absolutely no reason to leave their couch outside of going to the fridge or bathroom or better yet the dinner table to get some turkey. Enjoy.
Now to blogging. Question of the day: Where has the Dallas offence gone? Answers people, answers, I am not sure I have the answers but am willing to listen to what you readers have to say. I am certainly not proud to say that the Cowboys are 1-1 with only two touchdowns in those two games. That includes special teams, defense, you name it, two TD’s folks and somehow we got one win.
Certainly, kudos to the defence which has been playing very well of late to allow the Cowboys to get a win with only 14 points in two games. Let’s hope the defense continues it play of late on Thursday against the Raiders. If Dallas can find the offence and we all know they have the weapons than this game will be over quickly. Maybe as a note if the defense allows a few points they offence might say guys, we need to do it today as 7 points is not going to win it this week. never know….
Dallas has a slim one game lead over the New York ‘football’ Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Giants play the late game tomorrow in Denver and the Eagles play in Philly against the Redskins who Dallas just barely beat and got out-played by last Sunday.
Dallas quarterback Tony Romo has a sore back but it does not look like it is going to keep him out of action tomorrow but the short week did not help at all in Romo’s back having a few extra days to feel better. As always and noted in prior blogs, Dallas has to execute, make plays, run the ball, (Barber, Jones, Choice) hold onto time of possession and get the ball down field to Romo’s weapons, (Williams, Crayton, Austin, Witten), as a note Dallas tight end Jason Witten, my favourite has a sore foot but if I was a betting man which I am not I would say Witten will do everything in his power to play tomorrow.
Oakland comes to Dallas after a last minute win in Oakland last Sunday. I want to call it lucky but will refrain from doing so but everything went right for the Raiders in that Cinncy win. Oakland defensive end Greg Ellis will return to Dallas as a Raider after spending his first 11 seasons with the Cowboys. The Dallas offensive line will have their work cut out for them in stopping Ellis from getting to Romo and company.
I say Dallas wins and wins BIG!!!!!, back on track for the Cowboys, clicky clack….as always, comments, questions, concerns, people….I am waiting….
see ya Friday….
