Dallas has backs against the wall as they go up against San Diego this week
This game has huge implications as the Dallas Cowboys host the San Diego Chargers this Sunday at home.
O.K, so we all know Dallas is not a great team in December. What can I say? There are 17 weeks in an NFL season and the Cowboys are a reasonably decent team most of the time. Problem is for some reason the Cowboys do not fare well in December. One can only hope we can change that trend.
San Diego is playing some of their best football in years and things do not get easier for the Cowboys after this week. They still have the New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles to play, all of which should be tough contests.
It is going to be a ‘run for the border’ to see who comes out of the NFC East. With the division as tight as it is, look for the team that does not win to be in store for a wild card berth. This blogger is going to take Dallas Nation one game at a time, yup, one game at a time. I have already heard my share of Dallas being the odd team out.
The Cowboys as all of Dallas Nation knows can play with any team in the NFL and we know this Sunday it will have to be an A Cowboy team showing up to compete against the Chargers. There will be no room for mistakes—(see last weeks game against the Giants as an example of mistake after mistake). New Cowboy stadium will be rocking. I like the fact that this game is in Dallas as the home crowd is going to have to be the 12th player on the field for the Cowboys. The pressure will be high for both teams as San Diego has Denver knocking on their door.
No more ‘execute’ comments as clearly no one is listening. Romo and company have to focus on the basics and play football start to finish. As a note Dallas kicker Nick Folk who is 3 for his last 7 field goals has to find his niche as this game has 3 points written all over it and can only hope as my buddy Jimmy Buffet says ‘Come Monday’ we don’t have Folk to blame due to wide (left/right)…..
