Olli Jokinen and Brandon Prust for Christopher Higgins and Ales Kotalik
I can't figure ths one out. Ales Kotalik had a very limited no trade clause. He had 3 teams on his clause. The Calgary Flames were one of the three. Makes sense to me, he would not be classified as a Sutter player.
The only way I can see Ales Kotalik waving his NTC is if the Flames have another deal lined up in which Kotalik would move to another team.
I think the Flames are not done yet. (Kovalchuk?)
The Sutter's have been drooling over Christopher Higgins for years now so I would suspect he will stay the season as he is a UFA at the end of the year.
Bottom line is there had better be another deal in place here, because you have just traded the best player in a deal again, and then you dealt a heart and soul player.
