In what was an expected outcome, the Carolina Hurricanes lost 4-1 to the Calgary Flames.
Not too much to say about this one really, Calgary was the better team the entire game and deserved the win. Had the Hurricanes powerplay been on tonight, this may be a different game we're talking about right now but sometimes that's just the way things go.
Also making noise in the league is the pending trade of Niclas Wallin to the San Jose Sharks. Should he waive his NTC (Yes, people, he does have an NTC… it's not THAT absurd) “the secret weapon” will be wearing the black and teal of the Sharks by the end of the day.
I'm sure Canes fans will agree with me that we're definately going to miss Wallin, as his steady presence on the blueline has been nothing if not consistant.
Oh, and having 3 playoff Overtime goals helps as well. Thanks for the memories Nic, hopefully this… uh… draft pick(?) is worthy.
Milestone Watch: Eric Staals goal in the Calgary game (his 19th goal of the season) gives him points in 10 straight games, which ties his longest career scoring streak.
