The next three games on the Thrashers schedule will be critical in trying to ease into one of the bottom Eastern Conference playoff spots, with dates on the road at Colorado (Wed.), Minnesota (Fri.), and Chicago (Sat.) staring the new-look Thrashers in the face.Currently sitting in the 11th spot at 25-24-8 on the season for 58 points, just three points separate the Thrashers from the Canadians and the 6th spot.
It is almost a must to somehow gain three of the possible six points on this upcoming three game trip, with four being ideal.
With four days between games, this will give Oduya and Bergfors their first practice time with their new teammates.
A few stats to ponder:
-The penalty kill has reappeared; the Thrashers have killed off 24 out of 25 over the last six games, including 7 for 7 against Florida.
-Max Afinogenov and Rich Peverley lead the team with 18g.
-Rich Pevereley is tied for the NHL lead with 3sh assists.
-Chris Thorburn is tied for second in the NHL with 3sh goals.
-Tobias Enstrom leads the team with 36a.
-Nik Antropov leads the team with a +16.
-Bryan Little seems to be coming around; he has 4g and 3a in his last 13 games.
-Evander Kane has 12g and 10a in his rookie season.
I will be back after the Avs game and will combine the blog after the back-to-back games with the Wild and Blackhawks.
