USA/Canada Live Blog

Hello everybody, I will be doing a live blog for tonight's game between USA and Canada. Be sure to check back during the game and let me know your thoughts.

This is arguably the most anticipated matchup of the preliminary rounds. A three point win for the Americans would give them a first round bye into the quarterfinals.

This game comes down to a lot more than just seeding. A win for either team will come with great pride as this is a rivalry known to bring out the best in both teams. The winner will get an unbelievable boost in confidence — as well as a valuable trip to the quarterfinals, while the loser will have precious time to do some serious regrouping.

Team U.S.A. leads the Canadiens by one point in the standings, but many fans are wondering if the Americans can hold off the highly powered offense of Canada. Ryan Miller will be at one end, while Martin Brodeur will be at the other. It certainly makes for a spectacular goaltending matchup.

There will also be a number of teammates playing against each other. Brodeur will face Jamie Langenbrunner and Zach Parise, while Sidney Crosby will face Brooks Orpik. Those are just a few of the teammates competing against each other as both teams bring in 23 NHL players.
