Canada Mops it up!

The Olympic Canadiens are back in the driver seat.

Although they played an underdog team in Germany, Canada showed they are ready for medal rounds.

Joe Thorton opened up the scoring in the first  followed by Shea Weber 2:32 into the second, Jerome Iginla would also net 2 5 minutes apart in the second before a Crosby Penalty Shot that did not break the German Goaltender but none the less.  Finally Marcel Goc would score for the German team at this point it was 4-1 at the end of the 2nd.  Crosby, Richards, Neidermayer, and Nash would get for more goals in the third to make it 8-1.  Manuel Klinge would score the final goal at 18:58 in the 3rd.

Final score 8-2

Germany is now eliminated from Olympic Competition

Canada now will face Russia Crosby vs Ovechkin.  Although its earlier then expected this game should be the most anticipated and exciting game in these olympics.
