Then the Jackets traded Mathieu Roy for Matt Rust. Then the Jackets ened there trading by trading Alex Picard — the franchise’s No. 1 pick in 2004 — to Phoenix for forward Chad Kolarik.

Chad Kolarik, 24 was a seventh-round pick (No. 199 overall) in the 2004 draft. He has 17 goals and 18 assists for the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL this season. Kolarik (5-11, 175 pounds) spent the past two seasons in the minors after playing four seasons at the University of Michigan.
