A look at the Jackets In todays Trade Deadline

Today the Jackets made 5 trades. The first one was Raffi Torres to the Buffalo Sabres for a second-round draft pick and defenseman Nathan Paetsch. The second trade was Milan Jurcina back to the Washington Capitals. The Jackets received a sixth round pick. The other trade was Fredrik Modin to Los Angeles for a conditional seventh-round pick. Then the Jackets traded Mathieu Roy for Matt Rust. Then the Jackets ened there trading by trading  Alex Picard — the franchise’s No. 1 pick in 2004 — to Phoenix for forward Chad Kolarik.

Trading brief:

Torres to Buffalo
Jackets Trade winger Raffi Torres to the Buffalo Sabers for a second round pick and Nathan Paetsch.

Jurcina to Capitals
Jurcina to Capitals for 6th round

Modin Traded
Modin to LA for for a conditional seventh-round pick

Roy Traded
The Jackets also traded Mathieu Roy to Florida for Matt Rust

Alex Picard Traded
Jackets have traded Alex Picard to Phoenix for Chad Kolarik.

A look at what the Jackets got.

Paetsch, 26, has played 11 games this season for the Sabres, netting a goal and an assist.Paetsch will be an unrestricted free agent at season’s end.

Matt Rust,20 a 5-foot-10, 192-pound forward. He has 11 goals and 21 assists in 37 games this season for the Wolverines

Chad Kolarik, 24 was a seventh-round pick (No. 199 overall) in the 2004 draft. He has 17 goals and 18 assists for the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL this season. Kolarik (5-11, 175 pounds) spent the past two seasons in the minors after playing four seasons at the University of Michigan.
