The time has come for the Chicago BlackHawks to make a decision for this year’s run at hoisting the Stanley Cup and the biggest decision is easily the goaltending depth with the current tandem of Christobal Huet and Antii Niemi.
The goal-tending has been a major trending topic amongst BlackHawk fans, media, and hockey fans in general boasting that the Hawks will never win the cup with the 2 net minders Chicago has at this stage. While many believe Chicago can win with the team in front of them and that the goalies in place are lesser of an issue then most think well one can look back to last nights game where the Hawks outplayed the pesky Islanders yet lost 5-3. Both goaltenders were down right awful and looked as if they enjoyed the Olympic break a tad too much and forgetting to practice. The team did not play A+ defence either but nevertheless the tandem of “Antii-Christo” were in one word…oblivious.
I fully expect the goal-tending issue to be dealt with today and recently via Corey Johnson of HockeyLeaks.com saying Huet and a First rounder to NYI for Roloson and Sean Bergenheim. Not sure if there is much truth to that but we shall see. There are literally 10′s to 100′s of different rumors floating around the internet today and have been for weeks.
If the goal-tending issue is not dealt with today so be it and Hawk fans will have to somehow put their faith into the tandem of “Antii-Christo” somehow and hope for the best. Both these guys are capable of huge games but both are capable of letting some pretty weak saves that Bantam level goaltenders could make.
Stay tuned as I will try to keep updates on any Hawk movement today and enjoy the fantastic new site!
