Highly unlikely, but not totally impossible thanks to a tremendous streak that has seen the Hurricanes win seven games in a row, and 11 of their last 13.
Last nights win over the Ottawa Senators moved the Hurricanes to only seven points back of a playoff spot with 19 games left in the season. That in itself is amazing, considering the way this team begane the season.
Now, before you get too excited, consider that the maximum number of points the Hurricanes can finish the season with is 97. As a general rule, teams need around 92-94 points to make the playoffs in the East. That leaves room for only one or two losses in the last 19 games of the season which is unrealistic to say the least, though technically not impossible.
Do you believe, Caniac?
Zach Boychuk had two assists last night, giving him his first multi-point game of his career. The gritty, skilled rookie (think a young Darcy Tucker with better hands) also now has 5 points in his last 4 games.
Manny Legace has now, as of last night, beaten every single team in the NHL.
Chad Larose is 2 points away from his 100th career NHL point.
Next Game is Saturday vs. Florida. Keep that dream alive boys.
