Are the 76ers Throwing Games to Get Jordan Fired?

It’s a very serious accusation, one that can’t be made without overwhelming evidence. Though the situation and the way it’s unraveled warrant suspicion.
Begging the question, are the Sixers throwing games to get Eddie Jordan fired?
If you look at the most recent evidence, signs would point to yes. If you went by the comments of some of the players, signs would point to no. Though, if you are throwing games to get your coach fired you’re not going to come out and admit it.
There is a lot of comments about it being a “business” and saying “all we can do is go out there and play hard.” Well, it is a business that’s correct, and right now the Sixers are in the business of playing awfully pitiful Basketball. And lately, the whole “playing hard” thing has been hard to pick out.
There is another side to the argument though. Not knowing the future of your squad, your head coach even your GM can bring an apathetic attitude to the entire team. Especially when you know you’re just playing out the rest of the season, no hope of playoffs or playoff success for that matter.
When Andre Iguodala was asked about the situation he sounded as if Eddie Jordan was already gone.
“As players, we have to expect that. You have good teams that change coaches out of the blue because they didn’t get over the hump and bad teams change coaches because they didn’t get where they need to go. It can happen on any level. It’s a part of the business. You have to be ready and mentally prepared for it.”
It’s not a secret anymore, when a team plays like this, heads will roll. And it’s not as if this team is without talent. Certainly not “challenge for the East” talent but most definitely “make the playoffs” talent.
And this team has had a losing culture for quite a while now. Take away the success of 2001 and the average successful years around them and this team has been in a funk for quite a while.
So if this Sixer team is throwing games to get more steam behind the “fire Eddie Jordan” train then one can only applaud them. There is no pride in losing, there is certainly no pride in throwing games. Winning is always better than losing. Though, when a team is spiraling out of control, and all options are virtually exhausted, what else can a team do?
