Let’s see if my readers notice anything in particular about my wrap up this time around. Here’s a hint, I am putting in as much effort as the Predators did last night.
I am so excited to see Predators hockey on my big screen TV. So good to watch a game with my family. Hopefully it is a good one!
2:00 Arnott Erat Wilson. Interesting line, looks like a good first shift.
2:10 Sweet! Hamhuis and Franson Paired. Thank God the awful pairing of Hamhuis and Klein is dead. This is an EXCELLENT coaching move. About time.
2:35 Boyd got drilled. Not impressed with him at the moment.
4:29 Preds on the Flower Play.
6:00 Legwand SHOULD have scored but he can’t lift the puck over Nabs. I wonder why he has this problem so often?
9:00 In strange serious of events, Heatly gets a break away and JP Dumont screams down the ice and almost has his break away. Franson with a drive, but Jordin Tootoo ended up in the net. So that was a wasted chance.
10:00 Patric Hornqvist tallies a PP goal. Weber blasts the puck at the net and Horny stuffs in the rebound. I dunno how he reacts so quickly but he got his stick down quickly and got a piece of it.
14:00 Game is getting Physical.
14:10 It must be nice having your own Olympic team. Dany Heatly puts one in. I don’t think Ellis even saw the puck because he didn’t react. Sadly, that was the first shot on goal for the sharks, but they have had some great scoring chances. Up till this point, the preds have been dominating the pace of the play.
End of First, Score tied one to one. Here is my complaint, Legwand should have shot that puck when he was on a 2-1 with Smithson. Smithson isn’t going to score there. The Predators are putting on a clinic right now. Absolutely taking it to the Sharks. I just hope they can keep this energy up…
4:29 The Swedish Super Viking tips another shot in. I wrote earlier today that that the Predators needed him to step again and he is proving he can carry the load. I love how gritty this guy is in front of the net.
6:11 Joe Thorton backhands the puck in to make it 2-2.
8:41 I am amazed how well the Predators are skating with the sharks… who basically have an Olympic roster.
11:31 Goal for the predators! Franson with the point shot, I think JP Dumont tipped it home. 3-2 Predators!
14:00 Goal for the Predators, Dustin Boyd scores his first goal as a predator by getting pushed into the puck by Huskins. Predators should be ahead 4-2 but the “anti Nashville” video review men botch call. Now, I’m not exactly known for being an even keeled kind of guy when it comes to sports, but this single action had me foaming at the mouth. How this wasn’t a goal is honestly beyond my understanding. I have never said so many four letter words in a string in my life.
4:38 Collin Wilson makes the refs, San Jose, and Toronto suck it when he redircts cody fransons shot. Little bit of anger shown by Wilson in the celebration.
3:19 absolutely brilliant game for the Predators. I don’t see how they can possibly mess this one up.
2:00 Nice little piece about Ellis wanting to be the starter. I think he should be. He thinks he can help his hockey club and he should.
:57 Erat turning the puck over as always.
: 47 Sharks uncharacteristically passive on the PK tonight
Some overall thoughts: Predators are outshooting the Sharks 32-10. Wowzers. Also, Marcel Goc, Franson, and Wilson are the men on a mission tonight. The Swedish Super Viking is back on his scoring binge with a two goal, gritty as sandpaper performance.
3rd Period notes: Predators lose 8-5
How about that for effort? An absolutely disgraceful performance.
Predators play tonight 9PM central against the Anaheim Ducks, and they better win. In order to do so, they need a SOLID 60 MINUTES of hockey. That is all. I would chew out so many players and officials in this blog, but that would probably lead to exploding blood vessels and instant death on my part. Just win. Enough said.
