Yes, March Madness is finally here. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
The big dance is filled with so many unexpected turns and twists, which makes it one of the most compelling sports tournaments to watch.
While everyone is filling out their brackets, I noticed EVERYONE has Duke out early. Why is there so much hate?
Okay, yes their track record has not been all that great in past years. They lost in the first round in 2007 then lost in the second round in 2008 and again lost last year in the sweet sixteen.
C’mon guys look at the trend. They are only getting better year after year, not worse.
I think people are drinking the haterade because they don’t like the preppy white boy appeal that the Duke team has but remember the movie ‘White boys CAN jump’.
With a 29-5 record going into the NCAA tournament, the Duke Blue Devils just finished winning their 22nd Conference Championship to go along with their 23rd ACC tournament title.
They arguably have one of the best trios in the NCAA right now with Jon Scheyer, Nolan Smith, and Kyle Singler. Not to mention having an amazing supporting cast with such players like Mason and Miles Plumlee and Andre Dawkins.
Also, with only a 7-hour drive from Duke University to Jacksonville, Florida, means that the Cameron Crazies will be deep in attendance, giving the Blue Devils a great advantage to go far in the tourney.
By far, this is the best Duke squad that we’ve seen in years. I’ve seen the passion in Coach K’s eyes on TV leading up to the big dance. He wants it bad and so does the team. And today starts the road of proving all the naysayers wrong.
