The madness of March continues but the Kentucky Wildcats are showing everyone that they are on a mission and plan to autopilot their way to a championship.
Yesterday John Wall and the Kentucky Wildcats beat the Cornell Big Red 62-45 in their regional semi-final.
With only an hour drive from Cornell to the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, a sea of red filled the crowd as everyone was cheering in hopes that Cinderella will meet up with the Prince and live happily ever after.
Well, that didn’t happen.
Cornell looked like they were on their way to an upset as they were leading the Wildcats 10-2 early in the first half.
The Wildcats put an end to that spurt quick and trampled all over the Big Red’s glass slipper and never looked back.
What virtually became an away game for Kentucky became an easy walk in the park, as the Wildcats won by 17 points and advanced to the regional finals on Saturday vs. West Virginia.
They have now won all three games with a 25-point average as they routed East Tennessee St. and Wake Forest in the first and second rounds.
This young Wildcats team filled with budding freshmen is showing the world that talent can outweigh experience.
With the speed of John Wall and the post play of Demarcus Cousins, the Wildcats are looking quite impressive.
When Kentucky have alma mater Ashley Judd and rapper Drake in the crowd showing support, you know their not a team to be taken lightly.
Only time will tell.
