Jets Draft Watch: Demaryius Thomas

As the NFL Draft approaches, I will be highlighting certain players I believe the New York Jets may select with the 29th pick.

Demaryius Thomas

Wide Receiver

Georgia Tech

6’3

230 lbs.

Strengths:  Very big frame…strong runner who is tough to bring down…excellent blocker

Weaknesses:  Poor route runner…Inconsistent hands…lacks focus at times

Analysis:  The Jets do need another wide receiver target and Thomas would be the largest one on the roster if chosen.  What may appeal to the Jets the most, though, is his blocking ability as they haven’t had a wideout who could seal the corner since Laveranues Coles left town.  There should be other talented receivers available at this spot, though, so they may opt to go for a guy who seems more likely to put points on the board.
