The Wings get another win, unlike last time Detroit squeezed through with a 5-4 win over the already eliminated Edmonton Oilers now with 93 points and 8 wins up on 9th place Calgary, Detroit seems to have nearly clinched a playoff spot. Detroit has won there last 6 they are hot at the right times for sure and once again healthy, the woes of the early season have vanished and the Wings once again have rule in the Western Conference. Detroit dominated the first half of the game going up 4-0 until the 17 minute mark of the 3rd until Edmonton came back with a flurry of goals, Edmonton looked good however with 4 un-answered goals and with less then 2 minutes remaining Brad Stuart would get the game winner for Detroit, all the goals were by different players for Detroit, this proves all the Detroit’s players 1st to 4th line are producing giving them a high edge now heading into the post season.
They may still juggle in the standings but it looks like Detroit has it now. Nashville and L.A. are the current threats 1 point ahead and back of Detroit. The Wings can still break the 100 point barrier with still a possible finish of 105 points but they can only afford to lose 2 games to finish at that, but lets focus on making the playoffs first guys.
Columbus is next in line for the Wings, most of the remaining games are fairly easy with a couple rocky spots I would say Detroit has it locked, but anything is possible.

Hey Mark,
Good read on a good game.
Though I cover the Oil, I grew up in Windsor, and put my objectivity on the back burner for only one team – my beloved Winged Wheel!
Keep up the good work.
Go Red Wings!

I’ve been waiting for the Wings to become a bad team for……….ever it seems. I thought this was my year; guess not. If I’m a 1-3 seed in the west, Detroit is the one team I’m very afraid of facing.
