Well for those Flames fans that hoped that the Flames would go out Saturday night and try to send a message for next year, I’m sorry to say you were sorely disappointed. I have a good feeling that the only person happy with the way yesterdays game turned out was Henrik Sedin. His four assist effort in last night’s game of shinny gave him a three point lead over Alexander Ovechkin in the race for the Art Ross Trophy.
The biggest surprise for myself was the fact that Miikka Kiprusoff played last night and was completely abandoned by his team and was the only reason that Henrik Sedin didn’t have eight points in this game. The rest of the team barely showed any emotion. At least Jamal Mayers dropped the gloves with Rick Rypien after the Canucks had made the score 3-0 midway through the first period.
Aside from a couple of Giordano hits and Iginla trying to fight Ryan Kesler there was not much of anything from the Flames as a whole and that is why they lost 7-3. Questions about this team will be rampant from now through the whole off season. I’ll come out with a season review this week, and follow that up with what will happen leading up to the draft and free agency.
Have a good one!
