Avalanche not fearing a Shark bite heading into Game 3

If one thing can be taken away from the first two games of the Sharks-Avalanche series it is simply that the San Jose Sharks are lucky not to be down two games to zero heading to Colorado. The young Avs have shown the Sharks that this series will be no easy task and had the Sharks lost game two their physique may not have recovered considering the failures of the Sharks in previous playoff campaigns.
The Avs can take away that they have given the number one seed in the Western Conference all they could and more. Cool and collected are two attributes that describe the way the young Avs have conducted themselves in the playoffs so far.
Heading into Denver, the Avs have to be considered legitimate threats to win the series especially if they can manage a Game three win.
The Sharks line of Thornton-Marleau- Heatley were held in check in Game one not managing even a point while contributing a few assists in Game two. If the Avs can manage to keep these three in check much like they have so far they have an excellent chance to win the series.
Meanwhile, the Avs have been getting contributions from the players that were vital in getting them to the playoffs in the first place. Chris Stewart leads the series with three goals, while Paul Stastny and Matt Duchene have contributed.
Few would have faulted the trio had they not produced in the playoffs considering their inexperience especially in the case of rookie Duchene. They have matched and in the case of Stewart outscored the much heralded Sharks trio and it should make for one heck of a rest of a series.
