2010 Draft for the Redskins

This is always the most difficult to predict as each pick before will have a huge impact on the next.  The Redskins are still “open” to trading their first round #4 pick, but there are some glaring holes in their roster, so why??

They needed some offensive linemen last year and ended up with a great pick on the defense, but this year it’s even more of a requirement.  However, if one of the top QB picks is not picked by #4, I don’t see why they would take a great rookie QB when they already have McNabb (who I think has at least 3-4 more solid years left in him).  Taking a top ranked rookie QB and not starting him?  Seems silly really and totally makes the McNabb trade unnecessary.

So assuming they pass on a QB, I’m hoping for OT Russell Okung from Oklahoma.  That leaves the Redskins with a 4th, 5th and 7th round pick (they gave up their 2nd round pick as part of the McNabb trade).  They’ve also switched to a 3-4 defense, but with the Haynesworth questions still up in the air for taking the nose tackle position, this will also have an affect on which positions are needed on defense.   I’m hoping to trade Haynesworth beforehand, then focus on players that want to play and will show up for practices and not have to fake injuries to catch their breath.
