Cliff Lee has won his appeal, with MLB overturning his 5 game suspension and fine dating back to March 15 in a spring training game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Lee threw a pitch over the head of the Dbacks Chris Snyder, after Snyder had earlier crashed into Lee who was covering the plate. So due to the injuries Lee had suffered in the play and the recovery time required. Lee will not be fined or suspended.
Cliff Lee will throw in his second simulated game since the injury today before the Mariners take on the Orioles at Safeco Field.
On a side note if you missed the game last night Doug Fister threw a gem as the Mariners won the first game of the three game set with the Orioles 8-2. Fister threw 7 innings giving up 3 hits and allowing just one earned run, while walking one batter and putting three away on strikes to bump up his record to 2-1.
Have a good one!
