Post POTUS, Yankees Look to Keep O’s Winless at Home

Following a White House visit on Monday, the Yankees face the Orioles for a three-game set at Camden Yards, which will seem more like a home series for the Bombers, since Baltimore is yet to crack the win column in its own park.

Following his no-hit bid, Phil Hughes brings his 2-0 record with him to face Kevin Millwood, who is on his own very opposite streak with a 0-3 mark in an Oriole’s uniform.

Of the Yankees starters, Hughes has definitely impressed, but Andy Pettitte is on fire. He’s pitching better in some ways than he ever has before. Definitely a plus.

On the defensive side of things, Francisco Cervelli has been stellar behind the plate and has been contributing to the offense, while Ramiro Pena has looked good spelling A-Rod at third.

The Yankees lost their first series of the year to the Angels over the weekend. Of note, another shaky Javier Vazquez performance does not bode well for his maintaining his spot in the rotation.

Unless there’s a drastic shift in the baseball universe, the Yankees should be able to sweep the Orioles handily.
