Wow. What a playoffs this has been. Fast and furious action, major upsets, game 7′s galore, teams living up to their billing and more than a few choking. Here are a couple of observations:
-Is rooting for the Habs in Toronto during the playoffs a little like kissing your sister? Am I the only one?
-Or as my Facebook says: “VERY disappointed in the overnight Canadiens fans in Toronto – being a fan of the Leafs is a lot like a marriage; Just because your spouse isn’t around for a bit to entertain you doesn’t mean you can start dating someone else.”
-When did loyalty to your team foresaking all others die?
-Can we just give Jaroslav Halak the Conn Smythe trophy tomorrow? (Anyone else notice after Game 6 at the Bell Centre 2 of the 3 game stars first name was Jaroslav?)
-The Dave Nonis extension in Toronto was a GREAT move – the calm to Brian Burke’s storm. Who is this CZE centre they keep talking about? I think the point is a #1 centre fellas…
-What do you do in Pittsburgh? 21 million locked up long-term for 3 centres…
-Jumbo Joe – is Thornton’s resurgence a mirage in SJ? He is playing out of his mind right now; dominant.
-Has an OT own goal ever had the same effect on a team before? I mean seriously, I stayed away from Sharks in my playoff pool because they had let me down too many times…and now this.
-When is Kirk Muller going to get his shot as a Head Coach? (Do you think Muller and Mike Babcock go to the same barber?)
-This is the window for CHI…this roster cannot stay in tact next year due to salary committments; can they get it done?
Enjoy the 3rd round…I am off to Cuba (for our American friends, this is allowed where I live) for a week of fun-in-the-sun and to take in some propaganda. In case you’re waiting on the edge of your seat, Part II of the wildly successful “Leafs Summer Playbook” will be up when I get back.
West – SJS
East – Not Montreal
