I think they got a great price for him. Him centering Ovi for that long gives me chills. Glad my team is on the other side of the country!

Now with him inked in and a whole lot of players to sign, do you think that there will be room for Semin?

I highly doubt it. Any thoughts on what the Caps could fetch for Semin? A top 10 1st round for 2011 and 2nd 2011? I'm probably way off but it is fun to try to guess :)

Ben - From what I've seen, I think the locker room presence is a factor for Mike Richards, and I think it's harder to win with the Sedins at $12 million than Backstrom and Ovechkin at $16 million.

Justin - You've got him as a top 5 forward, and he's making $500K less than Chris Gomez, $2 million less than Malkin, and $200K more than Wade Redden for a decade; how great of an asset is that?

I have been telling my friends since last year that Backstrom was the most underpaid players in the NHL. Glad to see him getting what is a very well deserved raise. Now let's see if he can keep up his point totals now that he is not playing for a contract.

I would take Backstrom over Sedin and even Malkin just because I think that he has much more potential then either one of them. Stamkos on the other hand has a slight edge.

There are various players that I think have better value in the $5-7 million range because of their leadership skills too.

Right now I would honestly take Sedin but only if his brother was involved. One without the other doesn't seem worth it. Alone, Backstrom is worth more because he's younger.
