According to the Pittsburgh-Tribune Review, two sources have confirmed that Evgeni Malkin will not be traded this off-season from the Penguins.

Malkin, who is coming off career lows in points, game and goals in the 2009-2010 season, has four years left in a contract that pays him $8.7 million.

Jordan Staal has not been said to be off the trading-block which makes one assume he could be in a different jersey come next season.

GM Ray Shero has $21.4 million invested in the “Big Three” of Crosby, Malkin and Staal, money that could be used to acquire a top-six winger.

Staal has only missed one game in the past four seasons and has collected 168 points during that time.
