The Snow Bowl?
On Tuesday, NFL owners voted to allow the 2014 Super Bowl to be held at the shared home of both the New York Jets and the Giants, the new Meadowlands Stadium.
This momentous decision marks the first time that a Super Bowl will be held in an outdoor stadium in a cold weather area. The average temperature in February for the region hovers between 24 and 40 degrees Farenheit.
To combat the chilly conditions, organizers will be giving away hand and seat warmers and will have a full allotment of staff standing by to shovel snow if a blizzard occurs.
Of course, the biggest beneficiary will be the city of New York whose hotels will be filled to capacity and will enjoy the added tourist revenue.
The only question is: Can the Jets and the Giants both reach “the big game” that season?
