Did somebody say “deja vu”?

Almost 2 weeks ago on May 29th, two of the premier pitchers in the National League hooked up on the mound at Sun Life Stadium in Josh Johnson and Roy Halladay. When the last out was recorded, Philadelphia came away with the victory while Doc Holliday came away with his first career perfect game and the 2nd this year in the majors. Johnson was good, but not perfect.

Fast forward to Thursday night down at Citizen’s Bank Ballpark and the two aces were at it again. This time Johnson got the best of the former Cy Young Award winner, pitching¬† eight scoreless innings of three-hit ball, striking out five. He retired the last 17 Phillies he faced ironically while division foe Jonathan Niese of the Mets was retiring the last 21 Padres he faced.

Johnson increased his team lead in wins to seven (7-2) and has won 6 consecutive decisions.

Newsflash-Josh Johnson is good….REAL GOOD…..

Stay tuned.
